My new novel, The Habitant, is coming along very well. The first chapter is finished and I've started on Chapter 2. This novel is through the eyes of Jacques Goulet's son, Nicolas which has created some problems in viewpoint as I'm trying to tell the story through Nichloas from his birth to his death. Once he becomes vocal, the problem should disappear.

I have just started my latest novel. It is a sequel to the last one, The Immigrants. This is Nicholas, the son's story as he takes his place in the colony of New France. The plan for it is almost complete and I've started the first chapter which is about his early childhood on his father, Jacques's, concession on the shore of the St.Lawrence River in what is now the country of Canada.

I just finished my latest novel, The Immigrants, which is the story of my first ancestors who came to North America from Normandy, France in 1645 AD. New France at that time had less than a thousand settlers on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. Jacques Goulet and his young wife, Marguerite, soon became land owners and started a family that ending up being twelve children, ten of them boys, and two girls that did not survive childhood. It is a story of struggle, hope, and success. I am now editing and rewriting it. I hope to have it published by the fall market season.
